Wow! What a turn out, this has to be a club record for the first one of the year and I guess the recent spell of summery weather must have had something to do with it. Well the sun stayed out but the temperature was definitely on the turn, with quite a few people complaining about cold knees or feet.

Most riders seemed to confirm it was easier out to the turn with a cool stiff breeze troubling all but the quickest among us on the return leg through the forest.

Angus cut his way through the field to finish first on time and first across the line. Fastest Plomesgater was John in 25:18 - must be the early morning training rides. Not far behind was Richard (25:51) who was not far off his best on this course as well. With Steve (26:30) only half a minute or so behind. Include Jim who was holding the watches tonight and it's going to be a good close contest for the rest of the season !!

Fastest of the three women and making first claim on retaining the handicap trophy was Becky with a pb of 30:45.

Well Done to Jim and Hazel who like the rest of us were surprised by the excellent turn out.

Timekeeper: Jim and Hazel Ingram

Pusher:          Hilary Graham
