Heavy showers earlier in the day, but bright skies a couple of hours before the event, so the roads dried out fairly well, with a few puddles in places, especially on the start line.  Ron Shoobridge was time keeper and Jon Vidler pusher.  15 signed on, three of whom had never ridden a time trial before.

As the first rider was about to start, a few drops of rain came down, by the time riders got out onto the common it was bright sunshine.  Marin Alabone could hear a faint hiss as he lined up to start, fortunately the puddles at the start confirmed that he had a puncture.  The same fate was to come for Matt Donaldson.  So two DNS out of 15.

There was a bit of a breeze and the air wasn't too cool, with a good number of riders opting for shorts.  Pete says his legs felt heavy to start with, but got going reasonably well only to start to cramp up in one leg towards the turn and then in the other leg coming over the common; easing off helped a bit.
