Unlike the June event, where 3 new club records were set, there were no records tonight.
Steve was first to start and first to get back, ahead of a group of three, as Paul, John and Jim finished within seconds of each other. Jim just failed to catch Paul for a minute – he had wanted revenge for Paul riding away from him in all the events during the grasstrack at the weekend!
Paul's first official outing representing his new club was interesting – he rode in a borrowed Plomesgate shirt having forgotten his own – his third 'club' in under a week!
Matt was about 10 seconds slower than in June, while Jim improved by the same amount – he's warming up for next year, so watch out everyone!
Pete finally got to compete on the '5' course and joined the exclusive sub-12 minute club with the 4th fastest ever time.
Valerio missed out riding the '5' for the second time this year. He punctured before the start – while the bike was still in the car, actually! – and it just wasn't his evening: the valve was too short on the spare, then the spare punctured and then the wheel got thrown back in the car! Let's hope he gets his wheels sorted out before the club Road Race Championship at the weekend.
