* = Lady's best time on course

**= PB for this course

The 9th round of the competition was quite a fast night, with a number of course best and the women's course record smashed.

Sarra came out for her first 10 miles TT of the year and helped Pete to a very good 23:27, fastest time on the night and as far as I can remember one of the best evening tandems of recent years.

First solo was vistor Julia Shaw, who improved by more of 20 seconds the ladies course record that she owns. Pity this was not an open race, and as such her time cannot be recorded as an official time. But now we know what she is capable of. Adrian, with a PB on course, and Andy complete the podium.

On the list of good news we can record Jim I. finally back to competitions after a string of back problems, with the proof that the man still can race fast: his 25:19 after a few weeks of injury-free training looks quite impressive.

The other improvers on course where Jim H, first time under the 26min barrier, Valerio, finally faster (just) than his 2 years old best of 26:32, Ron, for the first time under 30min, and visitor John Cooper.  John Vidler got his best time for this series.

The handicap competition is getting hot: Adrian had the lead, and improved his time on the night, but Jim I. comeback is reshuffling the odds: Jim now leads by 3sec! With one race left, it looks like it's going to be a finish down to the line. The other competition that has turned open towards the end of the series is the vet one. Ron constant improvements are taking him closer and closer to Pete, whose lead is under 1min for the first time. Can Ron go for a final push?

Timekeeper and Pusher: Mark Howlett & Hilary Graham (and Natasha as special timekeeper helper)
