PLOMESGATE CYCLING CLUB

November 2001

Club Run 11th November

We will meet at Brandon Visitor Centre in Thetford Forest at 11:00am. This is situated on the B1106 about a mile or so south of Brandon. This is a smaller visitor centre than the main one at Thetford Lodge and  the car park is free. The ride will include some technical stuff and it is recommended therefore that helmets are worn.

CTC Membership

The renewal notice has recently arrived from the CTC which included the alarming news that they have increased the premium for individuals 3rd party insurance from some £2:00/ person up to £10 / person. This increase is far too much for the club to cover, so the committee has decided that the club can no longer afford to cover members for 3rd party insurance. Many members are already covered through there own individual affiliation to the CTC or BCF, and all members who race are covered by the RTTC or BCF during the race. However, if members wish to cover themselves for 3rd party insurance for general cycling then we would advise them to affiliate individually to either the CTC or BCF at a cost of around £25 for an adult.

As the main benefit of the club's CTC membership was the 3rd party insurance, we will no longer be affiliating the club to the CTC.
