March Club Run

A bumper turnout of 15 riders set off from Saxmundham, cycling through the lanes to the Whelan’s house in Woodbridge for coffee, cake and numerous chocolate biscuits.  On the return journey Viv got her third puncture of the week (oh joy!) and Becky managed not to get boxed in for all of the sprints.

April Club run

Steve J will be leading this ride from his house in Ipswich at 10:30am on Sunday 13^th April.  Steve’s address is 4 Leicester Close, (off Fountains Road) Ipswich IP2 9EX.  To get there, cross the Orwell bridge on the A14 Westbound, then take the junction immediately afterwards and turn right (towards Ipswich). Go down the hill (ski slope on RHS) and bear left at the roundabout at the bottom. Follow the main road towards Ipswich.  At the second roundabout (Audi garage on RHS), turn left.  Straight over the lights and up the hill, to T junction with Belstead Road.  Turn left and follow Belstead Rd, then Stoke Park Drive (change of name only, no junction). After passing the small parade of shops (LHS), pedestrian lights and "Harleys" pub, take next right (Fountains Rd).  Leicester Close is 4th close on the right, No 4 is second house on the right.

MTB in the dark

Has anyone spotted any MTB bits on the Framlingham road?  Trevor and Becky had a 40mph get off recently – fortunately the bikes off the car, and not them from the bikes.  No other cars were around to squash the bikes (phew!), and Trevor is rebuilding the bikes this weekend.

March Open “10”

We had a sunny Saturday for this, with a tough breeze making for difficult cycling.  There weren’t any Plomesgate prize winners this year, but everything ran smoothly, thanks to Hilary’s organization.

30^th March, Gt Yarmouth 25

Pete Whelan was our sole rider in this one, after the Broughtons turned up one day early, then found they were double booked for the actual ride.  The start was delayed one hour due to fog, so the traffic was busy by the end of the ride.  Pete did 1:04:06.

Plomesgate in the Peak

Are you interested in spending a weekend cycling in the Peak District?  The idea was raised at a recent committee meeting, and the weekend of 31^st May – 1^st June has been penciled in.  Current plans are to cycle in the Hathersage area and to camp or B&B.

• 28th June – CTC Norfolk District Audax Events: 100km Fine City, 200km The Noel Coward, 400km The Ketts Rebellion. All events start at the Scout HQ, School Lane, Norwich.
