After an afternoon of torrential downpours the number of riders was, not surprisingly very low. The roads were very wet, especially around Tunstall Common, but the three riders gave their best despite the cold temperature and stiff headwind on the out leg. Jim was fastest on the night with Steve down on his normal time as he arrived without time to warm up and raced on his commuting bike complete with mudguards and pannier rack. Paul nudged ever closer to getting under the half-hour and was the only rider to have a better time than on previous evenings.
