A very cold autumnal, dull and drizzly night saw only eight riders sign on. Numbers were also depleted due to a clash with the Essex & Suffolk BC event over at Crowfield.
Although not feeling at his best Evert showed the miles in the Majorcan mountains have done him some good with the fastest ride by a club rider so far and he also regained the lead in the Vets Trophy with a plus of 3.18.
There was a close tussle for 3rd to 5th places with Mark and Julia tying in 27.05 just getting the better of first time tandem pairing Trevor and Becky in 27.06. Richard had mechanical problems but will no doubt be back to try and regain his lead in the handicap competition which he lost tonight to Mark who reduced his handicap time to 19.32.
Well done to timekeepers and pusher off Jim, Haxel and Viv.
Don't forget if you want to ride the open 25-mile TT on the Tunstall, Bromeswell, Wantisden, Tunstall circuit then you need to get a completed RTTC entry form and £4.50 to John Chalker by next Tuesday, July 4th. Copies of the entry form are available either in hard copy from Trevor, John or can be found on the club website or on the RTTC website at http://www.rttc.org.uk .
