The last one of 1997 and one to remember. A calm, muggy and wet night proved to be one of the fatsest of the year. Trevor and Pete smashed their own unofficial course record with a 21.21 an average speed of 28.10mph !! Others to put up notable performances were Barry Nye who got to within 2 seconds of John. Hilary continued his recent good form with a 30 seconds improvement to 26.37 just 4 seconds ahead of another improver Gary. Steve back on his old bike showed he has recovered from his leg injury with an excellent 27.20.
