Vivienne Broughton 12.41

Another fine night with stiff westerly breeze which made the outward leg over Tunstall Commomn quite tough. Apart from our regulars we welcomed quite a few novices from both Plomesgate CC and Ipswich Tri Club. Best of the newcomers was Jack Holliday turning in an excellent 29.16, he was closely followed by Mark Broughton on his mountain bike in 29.33.

Fastest on the night were Pete and Sarra dipping just inside 23 minutes again. Fastest solo was John Gabriel showing his recent form in 24.14. Fastest Plomesgate rider ws Jim Ingram in 24.44, 1 second slower than last time, but still 7 seconds too good for John Chalker. For the first time that I can remember we had two Plomesgate lady riders. Theresa improved yet again and eventually attained her aim of beating 30 minutes with 29.41, this moved her closer to Matt in the overall handicap trophy competition. Matt improved himself to 29.21 so keeping his grip on the trophy. Vivienne Broughton was a reluctant starter but did really well in 34.41. The first one is always the hardest.

Timekeeper: Trevor Figgitt

Pusher: Jon Smith.
