A cool but pleasant summers evening but rather windy which was really noticeable to the riders once they were out of the shelter of the forest.

It didn’t seem to affect Pete and Trev on the tandem as they powered round in 21.49 beating the "official" record again. Jim once again took first solo in 24.37 and is really cementing his authority on the Dave Bott Memorial Trophy, there are still a few events to go though for people to catch him up. The gap is coming down as John took second place less than 30 seconds from Jim and only beating Steve by 17 secs. Matt improved again for this course, it must be the extra racing miles.

Hilary showed no ill effects from his enforced early season lay-off and got very close to his fastest on this course and at 60 years old has regained the lead for the Vets trophy with a plus of 2.50

Well done to Mark Broughton on his first time keeping job, the confusion at the start was enough to ruffle the feathers of a seasoned time keeper but Mark sailed through admirably. Well done to Robert and for mastering the tandem !
