Timekeeper: Robert Cotton. Pusher Off: Hilary Graham. Many thanks to Rob for timekeeping and not panicking as I chased him to the finish!
The Challenge Result
1st: Ipswich Tri Club with 30 points.
2nd Plomesgate CC with 33 points.
3rd Wolsey RC with 41 points.
(Points awarded as1 for 1st, 2 for 2nd 3 for 3rd etc…. Result calculated on best three male riders plus best female rider.)
Ipswich Tri Club provided the challenge trophy and made sure they hung on to it. There is always next year!
Thanks to John Gabriel for suggesting the "challenge" - it made for an exciting nights racing.
What an amazing night, with 25 riders taking to the start line. They were met with a calm and cool night which resulted in a tough ride all the way round. Subsequently most times were slower than before. The exceptions were the excellent winning time of Steve Peck and those few that improved. Most improved riders were Hilary, Martin Alabone and Viv Broughton. Viv’s improvement was such that she has now gone to the top of the leader board for the Handicap/Best Improver Trophy, with only one event left.
Next event and last one this year (or even millennium depending on your point of view) is August 26th.
