23rd September
- Copford, Layer & Lexden
15.5 miles - 731ft ascent. Very pleasant evening, although not quite up to Mallorca standards! [SS, JS]
23rd September - Langham & Gt. Horkesley

miles - Family ride on a lovely late summer's day. Over to my parents' at
Langham
then back via the Yew Tree in Gt. Horkesley and a rather nice lunch.

10.6 miles - Ride with the boys. Simon increased his personal
best mileage over 10 miles for the first time,
helped by a large slice of cherry
sponge
at Philpott's tea shop! [RAS, SPS, JS]

'Gentler' day whilst the keen 'uns went out and did 125km with Roger Hammond

15th September - 26.6 miles
Ride on arrival day to 'warm up!'
The
conditions were very hot and the pace
was rather high!
We only found
out that I'd won the competition a couple of days before flying out so
training was minimal.
An amazing once in a lifetime opportunity though.

September - Fordham, Wormingford Loop.
9.7miles 277ft ascent - Lunchtime Ride out on my racing bike as a desperate
attempt to remember
what it was like before the training camp! [JS]
8th September - Chappel & Wakes Colne Beer Festival

miles - 671ft ascent. We reused the same route as last year for a pleasant
evening at the Beer Festival.
On the way home saw both Red & Muntjac Deer
- one could say we also had a mini Deer Festival (groan!) [SS, JS]
3rd September - Sudbury area

miles - 1,125ft ascent.
Enjoyable ride. Planned to be a long 'un following South Suffolk Cycle Route
A,
but a cascade of rear wheel spoke failures resulted in walking the last mile
and
being airlifted
out by
car :-(

31st August - Tunstall Forest

miles - Very enjoyable off-road ride around Blaxhall Common & Tunstall Forest.
The GPS is refusing to relinquish the track data so no route map!

25th August - Bildeston & Brent Eleigh

Ride From Mark's house. Warm - hot even! - amazing after all the bad weather!

Ride out north from Helen's parents'.
Weather terrible but enjoyable just the
same - especially the tea stop at Minsmere![JS]
13th August - Rendlesham Forest

Family off road ride around the Forestry Commission waymarked trails from Tangham.
We were disappointed not to see a UFO on the 'UFO Trail' but Simon again did
really well!
